Day 3: Montessori de San Juan and American State Fair
We had so much fun today teaching kids about California and the other 15 states represented by our wonderful Fulbright cohort.
The American State Fair, put together by Montessori de San Juan in Manila, was a fantastic opportunity to learn about one of Manila’s preK-12 Montessori schools. With a rich population of neurodiverse scholars, the school’s 200 students experience a 7:1 student to teacher ratio and a structured SPED program grounded in individualized student support.
At the fair, we were privileged to learn about the students through their questions about the state of California. Varying from inquiries about our NBA teams to the California Condor, students learned about California’s history and culture. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to learn about nontraditional schooling options in the metro Manila area and for us all to learn more about each of our home states.
